After completing the drawing , my father added the text in and around the gear. I also provided a statement at the bottom of the poster.

Interesting value polarity in that word "Radical" www.merriam-webster.com/dictio…

If free-radicals contribute to the death of an organism, do enslaved-radicals contribute to its immortality? www.merriam-webster.com/dictio…

Powerful thoughts in that post; much to think about. :iconrightthumbsupplz::iconnotcryingplz:

Alpha and Omega. This is deep, useful, and worthy of repeated meditations.

I wonder though, that it doesn't seem to leave room for creative miscommunication?

The U.S. Citizenship and Immigration services field office probably doesn't look at their potential U.S. citizens' thoughts on aesthetics and greater creative endeavors ( assuming ). I have over the years not always gotten along with my father, not seen eye to eye. And yet there are moments when we do and I want to use that as a mark in growth between us and for myself. Indeed a literal mark I made upon myself after discussing politics is on my left hand to this day. Three years ago I got it professionally inked : it can be seen upside and inverted in the following image.

He called me a " Radical " in reference to my non-allegiance to a two party system. But unlike other things we have said to each other, that term did something different. I am his offspring and all families have their dark moments. I believe that I am a part of his creative biology, even if he does not see himself as an artist, I was created within him and my mother respectively.
 I encourage everything in this poster with the notion that there will be room for growth and further communication. Sometimes it's in the flaws and the fissures that a sprig of potential pierces through. And so in that sense, I believe that he and I made something together , and we didn't argue, and treated each other as adults and I cherish that aspect.

 Funny how words get associated with strange weight. for instance a sun neither sets nor rises - we spin in or out form it. There are terms we use that are quite antiquated and that would seem to be obvious but it does in small ways influence attitudes and lifestyle choices. Take for instance Left and right in terms of the Bible www.gotquestions.org/Bible-lef…

 Things like this have contributed inadvertently to notions of right and wrong. No one says That person is 'Left' and correct. It would follow more like , the person is right and correct.

 Little things like this give me reason to explore and pore over what most might call subtle connotations. In Art they can be explored safely. Once the Art is displayed for others, it may then become a little more than safe. Sometimes even radical. But that's a very subjective thing. But then again so is being a democrat or a republican.

As a "mostly-left-hander", I think I follow completely. :icongrin--plz::iconlefthumbsupplz: (i.e. the left-handed compliment, etc.)

Questioning what we "think we know" is the best path to becoming what we are: Quest-ions.
